The MA in Fashion Brand Communication & Styling programme is the only postgraduate programme in Fashion Design, offered in Greece.

It is unique in blending the approach and competences of Styling and Communication in a way that responds to the requirements of Fashion graduates in the Greek market and the booming need for specialist knowledge and skills.

The course will enable you to explore a range of research theories and methodologies, explore different Styling approaches in creating the Fashion image and develop your critical ability and contextual understanding of contemporary Styling. It will also provide you with the required knowledge and skills so as to appropriately communicate the contents of fashion and convey a brand’s identity and apply strategic measures in creating a communication strategy for a fashion brand.

This postgraduate programme refers to graduates of the Fashion Design industry (Fashion Design, Stylists, Fashion Marketing) as well as professionals of the industry (designers, retail, artists, advertising, fashion editors etc) wishing to develop as professionals in a challenging environment, able to respond to the increasing demand for fashion brand image architects and communicators.

Aims of the Programme

This postgraduate course aims to provide you with a learning environment in which you can combine creative and strategic knowledge and skills in Fashion Brand Communication & Styling and exhibit a solid understanding of the Fashion industry. It aims to enable you to draw on your own experience, to demonstrate a global understanding of the relevant dynamics affecting Styling and the implications of Branding, Visual Merchandising, communication and the various media, so that you are able to deal with Fashion Brands, develop your professional identity and apply strategic measures in creating a communication strategy for a fashion brand.

Its main goal is to train Styling and Communication professionals who can work closely with designers, video-makers, photographers and artists, capable of applying appropriate branding and marketing principles to their work, creating attractive and coherent proposals and communicating them appropriately.

Programme structure

The programme is comprised of six (6) modules, developed in 3 semesters, that lead to 180 credits.

Its structure, philosophy and content will allow you to extend your boundaries through critical analysis, experimentation, research, technological and creative exploration and develop the skills required to produce specialized Fashion Brand Communication and Styling outcomes.

Some of the topics explored in the MA in Fashion Brand Communication & Styling are:
Aesthetics & semiotics in Fashion, Styling in its sociopolitical and cultural context, Contemporary Styling (collections, personal, theatre, cinema, video clip), Brand Strategy & Communication (Fashion Marketing, Digital Media, Fashion PR), Visual Merchandising, Promotion – presentation (Magazines, publicationsς, Social Media, Fashion blogging), Fashion Photography – Visual Communication.

As a result, students will acquire a wide spectrum of knowledge, in Brand communication and Styling, so as to be able to produce professional results in their Main project.

*This programme is quality assured by Middlesex University and you will receive a Middlesex award on successful completion.

 

The programme can be completed in two different modes of study:

Full Time | One year full time – 12 month duration
Attendance required is three afternoons per week during the winter semester, two afternoons per week during the spring semester, and personal meetings with your supervisor for the completion of your Main Project during the summer semester.

Part Time | Two year – 21 months duration
Attendance required is the same as the full time option with regards to modules followed, however double time is given to complete your projects. In this case, one graduates one year later, in relation to the full time mode.
